Controller
Vancouver, Canada (In-Office, Remote, Hybrid)
We are seeking an energetic, hard-working individual to oversee our accounting team. As Controller, you will be responsible for the effective management of all accounting functions. The Controller will be supported by two junior accountants, along with an experienced CFO, who will provide ongoing mentorship. Previous experience as a Controller is not required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Ensure all entries are posted in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide guidance and judgement to junior staff re accruals
- Coordinate the team’s preparation of a full month-end close, including supporting working papers
and financial statements [Canadian ASPE]. - Compliance-related work including tax filings and year-end audit
Cashflow & Finance:
- Manage the collection of client receivables and ensure suppliers are paid in a timely manner
- Manager foreign exchange.
Analysis:
- Execute monthly analysis of profitability and efficiency
- Continual review of processes, systems, and file structures, seeking increased productivity.
- Review legal agreements
- Ad hoc reports as required.
Operations:
- Work with all departments to provide reporting, analysis and support as required.
- Interacting with the Canada Border Services Agency [CBSA]
Education & Experience:
- CPA designation
- Advanced Excel and database skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple demands, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills

Junior Accountant
Vancouver, Canada (In-Office, Remote, Hybrid)
Duties & Responsibilities:
We require immediate assistance in our Accounting Department. We seek a Junior Accountant who will be involved in the following:
Accounts Payable:
- Entering vendor payables into our industry-specific ERP software system
- Monitoring AP status and issuing payments via cheque and EFT
- Communicating with internal and external parties to resolve payables discrepancies
- Reconciling of vendor statements to our internal Accounts Payable subledger list
Accounts Receivable:
- Processing customer payments in our ERP system.
- Processing credit card payments
- Collecting payments and managing credit controls via communicating with clients
- Monitoring the AR and credit control status of clients
Banking:
- Handling daily deposits
- Reconciling bank statements with GL records
Other:
- Assisting with month end adjusting and accrual journal entries
- Participating in special and adhoc projects, as required
Education & Experience:
- Knowledge of accounting principles (ideally a major in accounting)
- Adaptable to learning new IT systems
- Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented and results-driven

Sales Associate

We seek a Sales Associate to help us grow for our 2nd century in business. Specifically:
- You understand the vital role freight & customs plays in our customer’s supply chains.
- You will identify prospective clients across a cross-section of industries and locations.
- You will create and manage a funnel of prospective clients and implement seasoned strategies for converting prospects to new clients.
- You will sell compliance. In a marketplace of low-cost, on-line brokerage, your value proposition is your passion to ensure our client’s imports are done in accordance with CBSA regulations.
- You will sell freight and consulting services to our loyal clients.
Candidate:
You are a logistics professional [with or without sales experience] with the following characteristics:

Education & Experience:
- 2+ years of related experience in freight forwarding primarily North American road trucking.

- Familiar with sales prospecting, negotiating, closing techniques, and most importantly relationship management. You will be selling additional services to existing, long-time, loyal customers, where the relationship is everything.
